The 2019 IEEE 6th International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Application (ICSIMA 2019) was successfully held from August 27-29 2019 at the Royal Widad Residence @ UTMKL, Kuala Lumpur. The conference was organized by IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society Malaysia Chapter, and chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kushsairy Abdul Kadir . There were 53 papers presented at the conference with 70 participants attending. The conference started off with a workshop on humanitarian topic sponsored by IEEE Humanitarian Activities Committee (HAC) on the 27th of August. Two keynote sessions were presented by Mohamed Rawidean Mohd Kassim with his session on the applications of WSN in Agricultural Environment Monitoring Systems Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), Cloud computing, Big Data and their convergence with the Internet of Things (IoT) and Professor Dr Sevia Mahdaliza Idrus, Head of iKohza Odesy of Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, UTM with her session entitled “Development of High Precision Foreign Object Debris Detection System from Research to Airport Operation”. Best Student Paper Awards as well as Best Student Presenter Awards were also given away to selected participants. We hope all these efforts will enhance the interest in instrumentation and measurement research in Malaysia.
